    New member ordering car today!

    Hey everyone ! I'm Clint and Im so happy coming from a civic SI to this car. It'll be my first new car! Im ordering my 2012 impreza wrx limited 5 door. The only Option I'm hung up on is the subwoofer. I'm not really big into modding sound systems, I planned on keeping my sound stock for a while. Do you think it's decent subwoofer?

    Then once I place the order we already worked on a deal they'll order it, so again thanks for a great community can't wait t o learn more and get my car but firstly subwoofer or not?

    I also have the navigation and I've rea somewhere that the subwoofer may not work with it.

    Welcome and congrats! Don't get the subwoofer, its useless. I have it and I think its a waste. An aftermarket one would be so much better or take the money and invest in better door speakers down the line.

    I mean can you tell a difference? Does it move around when you drive?

    Aftermarket costs about the same with enclosure & would be a lot better.

    Eh... I don't have my bass cranked up because then you really hear the rattles in the doors, etc. I've been in a WRX that doesn't have it and I can't really tell it being that much of a difference. I just think if you're going to spend the money for the subwoofer from Subaru, you're better off getting aftermarket ones. I can't tell you for certain all aftermarkets are plug and play but if its not, but I can tell you for sure its better than the $500 sub you're going to buy as an option. It doesn't slide around, it sits very securely under the seat.

    My suggestion: go to a dealership, sit in one with the sub and one without. Tune the stereo the way you would so you can really tell the difference and see if its worth the $500 to you or not. Mine was worked into the deal where it was no expense to me so that's why I have it. I never planned on getting it as a option. The only things I wanted and got with my car was the all weather mats, auto dimming mirror, arm rest extension, and the spt exhaust.
