Man, I know it's been said a few times already, but that yellow is fantastical. If they offered it for the 2012 model...wow. Yet, I don't know if it would look as good as it does on the bugeye. Anyone feel like photoshopping? (I'm cooking dinner at the moment)

Here is the rest of those pics - it was still stock ride height, no BBS, and stock catback (I liked the dual tips better actually).

There were 1500 sonic yellow bugeyes in the US total, I'd assume 2/3 of them were sedans.

Thanks for sharing the bugeye pics...I stand corrected, there are some nice ones out there. I'll keep my eye on the local classifieds. Perhaps a bugeye for a few years can tide me over until I can spring for a new one from the factory.

Lol, I never thought that would work. It is good you have an open mind

There are lots of good stickies in the car purchasing forum:
    Complete USED WRX Buying Checklist

I'd look for a stock car, or maybe stage II if it was done right. Suspension upgrades - the more bushings the better, just no cheap coilovers or excessive drops. If you want to learn what people do, this is the cliffnotes version. If the car deviates from this mod path, it will be a nightmare.

Thanks everyone for their input. I figure it is time to share an update with what I decided...

After keeping on eye on the local classifieds for a month or so, I never seemed to find a good used WRX that was "Just Right" for me.
It seemed all of the ones I was interested in were over-priced for what they were, and all the reasonable ones had way too many miles or too many mods for my liking.

So I decided to go the New route....my very first "brand new" car. A healthy tax refund and a HARP refi (2.5% lower rate on my mortgage)...put me me in a much better position to just go for it.

I reached out to a local dealer, and negotiated on invoice pricing. I put my $500 deposit down (which btw, dealer said would be fully refundable should I get cold feet later in the process.)

3/30 - Placed order for 2012 DGM Premium Sedan
    4/2 - VON Received
4/11 - Dealer Update - Estimated Arrival Month of June-2012
4/18 - Dealer Update - Estimated Arrival: Month of June-2012
4/25 - Dealer Update - Status Scheduled, Estimated Arrival 05/04/2012

So far no cold feet for me, and we are highly anticipating the new arrival! It will be so exciting!!!

Good choice! I just bought mine and have 0 buyers remorse. In fact it's buyers rejoice! I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to go this route as opposed to the practical route

^ Your statement is mired in silliness! The WRX is the practical route!

I disagree I find the wrx to be practical, it's a great fun car to drive and in my opinion if you compare it to an accord, Taurus, ect it's just as practical. I fit a car seat and stroller, get decent gas mileage, AWD, great handling. Why does it have to be boring to be practical?

I am not disagreeing with you at all. I agree. My statement was more toward the OP's post(s) and public perception in general.

In fact I read an article somewhere. Can't find it now.. May have been a magazine. Anyhow, the WRX was rated as the top car for all around purposes.
