Hi all am steven from Mauritius Island, glad i found this forum, am owner of a 2003 bug eye subaru impreza 1.6ts.... just bought this car after selling off my glanza 99... really miss the 4efte power but in my country the roads are like ****s...so glanza=stiff suspension and its very uncomfortable...so i decided to move on to a more comfort scoobyAm planning in the near future to do a swap to STI engine and hope that i can count on u all if i need any advice or help. Infact in my country, subaru is not so comercialised and is rare...the big problem is that its difficult to get spares and when u get it..wow the price is way too high
.. but i guess subaru is a solid car..so no stress
Hope that this forum will help me out and vice versa..tc cheers steven

Good news, everyone!
Lol I think Subaru's are rare everywhere! Of course there are a lot more here in US but compared to other brands. :/ it makes me sad when people don't recognize Subarus where I live.

I have to admit that I had to look up where that place is. A picture I found makes me want to book a flight tomorrow though:

I had no idea what Maritius Island was but come to find out it is the only known home of the Dodo before it went extinct. Cool.

Here what is frustrating is that subaru is considered as a high risk car and has no such market value...
Infact its the representative of subaru here which is not reliable, so when it comes to looking for spares..its really a headache!! for instance last week i went to my garage for a complete car service, and it was very disappointing!...i looked for an oil filter and cv boot in vain.. evry spare parts shop i went sai' sorry no sub spares'. then i googled on my phone to try figure out which other japanese car oem filter and cv boot could be used...! and i realised that the mazda oil filter was the same and after loads of search saw that the toyota yaris cv boot is identical to sub one
and thus the job was done.
Here in Mauritius these cars rank first in terms of reliability, cheap spares and market values:
1)Toyota
2)Honda
3)Mitsubishi
4) Nissan
