Sound System Question?

Hey, ordered my '12 WRX a few weeks ago. Just wondering....with the base head unit if I were to plug in an ipod with the usb input (not the regular jack) would I get song/album info on the head unit or is that only applicable with the navigation/premium head unit?

The base sound system will show some info - but keep in mind it is really only a one line display, so you can cycle from artist, to album, to song title. It will not scroll on its own (I wish it did). I just leave it on artist, and you can advance it with the "text" button if you need the other bits of info. Not a great system, but better than nothing ...

I've just play over BlueTooth, so I don't have to plug anything in. You don't get any track info, though.
