    New from the bay area!

    Hi!

I'm a new owner of a 2012 WRX. It's my first Subaru and I'm loving it so far. Originally from the bay area, east bay to be specific, but am in Santa Cruz for college, which, according to craigslist, is still the bay area haha. Anyways, just saying hi; I'm excited to be a part of this Subaru community! Also, I had a quick question. I know the WRX comes with summer tires and that it's best I have dedicated winter tires for the snow. I do plan on going up to the mountains (either around Tahoe or maybe somewhere down south at Big Bear) to ski/snowboard and had a question about tires. I'll be in the east bay for now, and Santa Cruz for the most part, so if I got winter tires would I have to carry them with me in the car and install them as I got closer to the mountains? Or could I just put them on and drive for a few hours on dry pavement before I hit the mountains? Thanks!

Tahoe's roads are normally cleaned off really well. id just put all seasons on it and not worry. it depends on what roads your going to drive on too.
