Its a defi gauge with a control link. Also the car has a electrical smell to it when you push it. I keep looking and I cant find anything.
Ok thank you for all the info guys. There is a shop that masters in subaru that im going to take the car there monday to be fully inspected.
My dad already bought it and I already made the committment to trade my car for it. If its something serious than I can back out.
huge difference between a subaru technician, and a subaru tuning specialist. A shop like oem subaru is going to tell you the car is junk.. A shop like Kronos, PRERacing, RallySport, World One, they may tell you the car is junk, or they may tell you the tune is junk.. You need to be specific that the car is going to a subaru tuner..

Its a dyno shop that specializes in subarus.

I got a major problem now. The car almost seems to be in limp mods but no check engine light. The car revves in gear above 3k rpm. Is this possibly the clutch? For awhile it only did it at higher rpm and I guess its slowly descending. This is my first car that is stick so im not the expert for this. Any ideas?

Sounds like the clutch to me. If it revs while it's engaged, then it's a slipping clutch. If you stop doing that and drive at low rpm, you might get a couple of hundred miles out of it. Having to replace a second clutch, and this one a race once, with this few miles tells me this car has been beaten on. Run away from this car as others have said!

Not trying to be an ass here, but the problem is that you bought a car that multiple people on here told you to stay away from. From your descriptions, this car had "Danger! I'm a pile!" written all over it.
Don't drive the car until tomorrow when you take it in. If you're lucky, it's just a bad tune and they can get you going relatively cheaply. If not, well, you can't say we didn't warn you...

Is 73k miles not good for a clutch? How long should it last? Ok this car does not look like a keeper lol. I do not know if this clutch is the stock original or a performance clutch. I guess the shop will be able to determine that tomorow..
I didnt actually buy the car. Here is the story. My dad purchased the car for himself and we talked about trading cars. I have not bought the car. I was going to trade my car for this car but now from your guys information I will keep my car and continue searching unless its something simple. I do not want a money pit....

so the clutch completely died. I had to get a tow truck to bring me home. I was only 1.5 miles from home... We called the previous owner of the car and said it was the original clutch. Was it pre maturely dead?
