may be switching from mitsu to subaru

I have a 08 lancer and wanted to switch to subaru .So i just wanted to know how reliable subarus are. I've been doing some research and stuff but wanted to ask actual subaru owners. I have a chance to get an 04 sti with 108,000 miles from a dealer. The body is in great shape and interior is as well. So i just wanted some input on how your cars have treated you all. Thanks

Subaru makes extremely reliable cars. They're not at the level of a Honda or Toyota, but aren't far short of it.

Is this Subaru you're looking at stock? Does it have any signs it has ever been modified? Does it have service records? How much are they asking for it?

Only mods on car are perrin exhaust and aem piping. It does have service records, and has been through scheduled maintenance. The dealership is asking for $14,950.

Wow yeah that's WAY too much. Did you look at the pricing on nada.com? KBB isn't a real pricing site. Check edmunds too. Most importantly, look on cars.com, autotrader, ebay, etc and see what people are asking for a similar car.

When you say perrin exhaust, is that a catback or full TBE? What maintenance has been done? Is the timing belt done? Does it have a new battery or still the original one? Has the coolant been flushed and replaced? What about all the other fluids?

For reference, when I was trying to sell my '04 STi 2 years ago, it had 67k miles on it, a full stage 2 Cobb TBE, and a great Alpine sound system in it and I couldn't get $17k for it. I never even got an offer in the 2-3 months I had it on the market.
