Just ordered my first subaru, wrx limited! Can't wait hope it comes sooner than later. Quick question I ordered the nav anyone have any experience with the 2012 nav system or know what model it is?

Here's the best information I can find on the Nav.
2012 Subaru WRX and STI research page: WRX, Premium, Limited, and STI, STI Limited, 4 door sedan, 5 door hatchback packages
The 6.1" Nav system is all new for the 2012 WRX and STI.

The 2011 nav system was 7" for the WRX and STI.
The 2012 Legacy nav system is 8".
Maybe it's a smaller version of the Lagacy's setup, maybe it's an updated version of the Kenwood 7", maybe it's all new.

They bought my infiniti and i asked if i need to make my payment on the 24 th and he said no u should have the car by than. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

I was actually wondering if you would be able to go to the dealer and get the 2012 navi's installed in the 2011's? Would anyone think this is possible?

Off course I'd rather wait until I hear some feedback about it, seeing as I heard the 2011's were not good at all :S

The mounting from year to year should be the same ('08-'12).
You'll have to ask your dealer if they are able to install the newer nav in the older car. Other than cost I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

Quality aftermarket units can be had for less than the $1000 price of the stock unit.

I'm sure I'm not the only one but I have a thing with my car being completely stock until its warranty is up.
In any case, I'm much interested in the OP's original question about the nav. Is it good essentially :O ?

IMHO navigation units are so 00s.. honestly your cell phone can do a better job and it doesnt need an expensive update disk every year.
