I threw one of Eric's base maps on a friends '08 last week with great results. As long as the map in question comes with revisions, good choice...

If it's simply the StageII map, don't bother with the TMIC/uppipe; that's something you want a custom tune for. I'm pretty sure he does e-mail tuning.

Really? The closest reputable tuner is in Colorado. Other options? Drive to CO with parts in hand, get them installed and tuned in the same trip?

How far of a drive is CO? If you're getting tuned at their shop, they should send you a base map that would be safe to get to their shop with.

With proper equipment (laptop to datalog / WBO2), an e-mail tune is very effective. Basically, they send you a base map. You send them datalogs, and they send you revisions. This process repeats until both you and the tuner are happy.

If he does e-mail tuning, absolutely. To buy a quality TMIC like the PW / uppipe like GS and run a base map would be a waste.
