    Hello all,

I was reading the forum and found out that the early 02's and late 02's had some slightly different set ups, particularly in the transmission I believe. I have an 02 wrx so I was wondering if anyone knew how I could tell when the car was made down to the month, or if anyone knew how I could tell if the car had the upgraded factory parts. I'm not exactly sure what I would be looking for. Anyone more educated on the subject?

Look in your driver side front door sill. Bottom near the back there is a manufacture plate with your build month/year on it.

The build date won't tell you as much as the gear box code (same location) and the colour of the coolant reservoir with the radiator cap above the turbo near the rear of the motor on the side.

Search your gear box code here for more info once you retrieve it.

A black coolant reservoir denotes an early car.
