    The terms are only meaningful in terms of marketing and their definition varies depending on the model of car and the source of parts. Basically these are parts lists and mod lists. See the link in my signature for more info.

    Greetings and welcome to the Club!

    Stage 1 is essentially mild engine management (tuning) without supporting modifications.

    Stage 2 requires a turboback exhaust at minimum with more aggressive engine management.

    so stage 1 is just the accessport, and stage 2 is exhaust + accessport + whatever other bolt on mods you can do?

    Cobb outlines the modifications needed for their Stage I/II maps.

    The only additional modification needed is a catless uppipe on the 2.0L cars.

    In the world of Cobb, yes. I started down the Cobb path in 2005 and then deviated into stage 2+ using open source tuning. Click the Mods & Pics link in my sig for all the details.
