I bought the Sti short shifter bushing for my 2011 Wrx hb. The shifter is installed from the dealer and I assumed ( wrongly ) they would have put the bushing in as well. Does anyone know if it's possible to install through the shift boot, or if I need to do it from underneath? Does anyone know if this bushing is any good or should I buy a different one?

I have the same question. My car was purchased with the short throw already installed. I suspect the bushing was not installed because if feels a little rubbery, but don't know for sure. Curious how different it feels with the bushing?

The STI short shifter is installed at port. The SPT bushings have to be installed by the dealer.

A common alternative to the SPT bushings are Kartboy 5mt bushing combo

Install videos & instructions can be found in the thread in my signature. It is quite easy although it will have to be done from underneath the car.The bushings really make shifting a better experience.

i originally installed the spt bushing when i installed my sts. It has to be done from under the car.

I later changed out to the kartboy bushings. I think they are better.
