First 1k miles keep it under 3k rpm's-3500 max. I increased it to 4,00rpm's till 1500 then from there as I saw fit, I have 3k and yet to red line it so.

The owners manual says to keep it under 4000 rpm's for the first 1000 miles. I'm at 384 miles, long way to go...lol

All you have to remember is that its called the "break in" period, not the "break it" period!!!

To add to what others have stated, don't ever cruise at one RPM for the first 1000 miles (this means NO cruise control). Try to vary your RPMs a lot, and engine break at every opportunity.

Drive it easy for 200 miles or so with stop and go. Then after that you are fine to drive it how you like. Just don't hold at high rpms for the first 500 miles or so but you can definitely get on it. They just put them 1000 mile under 3500 rpm for liability reasons and morons that don't know what they are doing.

what would you like to know.

Do you have the VIN? You can use the VIN to register at my https://www.subaru.com/my-subaru/aud...inmethod=email & the manual is available there.

STI short shifter comes with the linkages. The SPT bushings may have to be brought seperately & installed by the dealer.Your dealer can confirm this for you. There are't a whole lot of people with the factory short shifter.
