Hello all I just traded in my '04 RX8 today for an '11 WRX Premium and I can't be happier... just wanted to start my first thread by asking, is there anything that the new WRX owner should know, maintenance-wise, etc...

Asking this question about the RX8 would yield a 16 PAGE ESSAY on advice ... I don't expect the same w/ the WRX! but I DO want any honest advice for the new owner

Anyways, just glad to finally be done w/ the 8, and looking forward to a LONG and happy relationship w/ my NEW ReX... watched it roll over 100miles today and I can't wait to watch it roll over 100k miles some day!

Welcome to the forum. And congrats on the purchase.

Stick to the break in period by keeping it under 4k for the first 1000 miles.Just stick to the maintenance schedule & you should be fine. Also avoid launching the car to save your transmission.Don't throw the car into 1st when it is moving.

thanks for the advice... I MAY have already (and by MAY I mean I HAVE) broken the first rule... but only once... ie: in the "head jerking" reference above... I have been trying to take it easy tho for the most part. I'll definately do so from now on... and no launching. thanks again

What's going on there boulderite Congrats on the new purchase. It's worth it. They're low maintenance... fun... and very utilitarian for a sports compact. Did you get a sedan or wagon?
