Happy with car, but need advice on small things.

Purchased 2002 WRX 2 month ago.
    Color: red
    Mileage:105051
    Exhaust Helix turboback exhaust(no tune)
    BOV: Turbosmart 2 port
Suspension Tein S tech springs and KYB shocks.
Engine with 3500 miles on it, Tranny 3500 Miles on it.
I'm in the High Rockies area - altitude from 6000 to 12000.

Overall i'm happy with car, but recently i start driving 170 Miles daily trips, and exhaust noise just killing me.
    1) How to make car quite for low cost, closer to stock sound ?
    2) And another thing is anytime that i downshift or let go gas pedal it will shot sound(i gues it is running rich).
    3) Do i need BOV at all ?
    4) Do i need to have tune done ?

I did forum search, just looking for opinion. And maybe some help from Denver people.
    Car pictures attached.

    1. Fit as many of the authentic exhaust components as you can. I'd start with the Subaru muffler and go from there.
    2. Don't know; could be the BOV (?). What does "shot sound" mean?
    3. No.
    4. No.

I know. He does not need a tune for a turbo back exhaust.

EDIT: Looking at the pictures. One question and a couple comments though: Why are some of the photos labeled "problem?" Are there issues? Comment: Your car is a very early 02, maybe even late 01 production date? I'm amazed at your radiator. I'm on my third.

On bug-eyes a tune isn't required like later years. Has to do with the closed loop to open loop transition I believe.

Yes in general terms if the headlamps are round an exhaust will be OK. Remapping will almost certainly yield more output but it is not necessary.

Your model is a much more refined car and quicker, but the bugeyes do have some advantages.

How do i check production date of my car ?
And problem in pictures basically means item that i want to replace with stock or do something about it.

If only between shifts, it's likely because you're running an atmospheric BOV (due to the car being MAF-fueled)

Catback. You can get quieter aftermarket catbacks that won't be restrictive (e.g., Borla Hush, Invidia Q300, Maddad Whisper)

Not only beetween shifts, anytime i let gas off (idle or do engine breaking).
I don't want to spend money for new exhaust i'm sick of this one ...it''s annoying on long trips.
Just curios if i can get stock DP, or stock muffler to silence it.
By the way i have check engine light "Front 02 sensor".

You could possibly break even selling the exhaust you have (some people like loud cars). Either way, the catback is the most important aspect to the sound/loudness of the car.

Get that taken care of, then worry about other things.
