It could be coincidence...but yes, it could simply be that it just got looser over a period of time. It happens. Clamps wear down and get loose from heat and even pressure over a period of time.

Okay. So first let me tell you bout the car.
Its an 02 WRB Subaru WRX wagon. It has close to 200000 miles on it. And is completely stock.
But very well maintained.
So heres my problem:
I was driving with a friend who has a 2.5 ts of the same year and he wanted to see if his car would keep up. So I was in around 3rd gear with the RPMs arpund 4500 to 5000 and went to shift and wheb I did I heard the normal sound of the diverter valve. But when I hit the gas only the turbo would spool and the car shut off shortly after. I popped the hood and noticed that the hose leading from the turbo to up under the intercooler had popped off the turbo side when I shifted.
Now,my question is:
Is this a product of the clamp being to loose or did I h av e too much bokst built on the stock turbo?
Thanks for the help in advanced. And sorry for any misspellings I did this on my phone

Thabk you for the reply. I figured it was. I got the hose reattached to drive home. But im not sure its the whole way on.
Okay, so i took my intercooler off today to check out the hose that leads from under it into the turbo. It was really messed up where it popped off. The bottom of it was bent up into the hose. The hose looks like a Y. Does anyone know the name of this hose so i can get a replacement for it?
Also. On my boost gauge before i took the intercooler off and got the hose put on correctly when i would shift the boost gauge would stop at .05 at 3500 RPMs. Now that i have it on correctly i took it out and when i shift its at .1 on the boost gauge at 3500 RPMs. Is this what the stock boost should shift at or did i put something back together wrong?
Thanks in advanced for the replies
Boost is right.

Sweet. So before i fixed the hose it was wrong when it was hittin at .05 right?
Yes the .05 is not full boost. Full stock boost is just under .1

Thanks. Am i able to get just a Y pipe?
The Y shaped plastic hose that goes from the turbo to the intercooler is called the Y Pipe
Edit: Dang, beat me to it.
I think there are Y pipes available without the other two hoses, but they are the same price as the Samco one. I installed the Samco one on my WRX, and didn't use the other ones.
EDIT again : Here is one that's just the ypipe for $90 http://www.jscspeed.com/catalog/Suba...ubaru_WRX.html
EDIT3: I guess that would be more helpful it if was instock....
