New WRX owner learning the tricks of the trade

Howdy everyone, just picked up me an 08 WRX manual 5 speed. Got out of a big ole diesel truck but before that I had an 05 GTO. It's so nice to have a car I look forward to driving again!

I'm planning on putting a hitch on the back of this guy fairly soon to tow a very small single trailer jet ski down the road to the river (I know... I know... it's a sin putting a hitch on a sports car, but it's either this or no jetski)

I'm down here in cocoa beach florida, still new to the area. Definitely looking for some people to run around with, I miss the old car meetups ls1gto.com used to do.

I'm still pretty new to imports so I'm sure I'll be asking all kinds of questions around these forums, so I'll see you guys soon!

    1. hitch is fine, just watch the weight restrictions (I think it's 200lbs tongue, 2000lbs total). Plenty of people do this on subies
    2. a WRX is not a sports car, it's just a sporty car.
    3. there are plenty of subaru meets - look out for them in your area.

Welcome! There are meets Wednesday at sonics on 436 in Orlando near the 408 exit. Not super close to you but should be under an hours drive depending on where in cocoa you are.

    Thanks for the welcomes!

I'll be towing about 400 lbs, so I think I might make it under the 2k weight limit Tongue weight is under 50 lbs easily.

As far as not a sports car, the price of my insurance says otherwise :P

I might have to take you up on your offer one of these days wrxtreme06, am I wrong in assuming there's a local post for some more info on this? I can't seem to locate it.

Well anyways, thanks for the welcomes everyone, it'll be fun working with you all!
