I would argue it down a couple thousand and bring a kelly blue book but the fact is these cars hold their value around that area. See exactly what kelly blue book says for the car and try and revolve around that.

Hello all, just thought I'd start out by saying that I'm new to the boards and I'm currently shopping around for the right WRX for me. Originally I wanted a 2-3 year old model with low miles, but now after driving an 06 I'm willing to consider the 06-07 years as well.
Right now I'm looking at 2006 WRX with about 88.5k miles on it. The thing is crisp inside and out, totally unmodified. It was allegedly driven by one owner in his 40's who really took care of it (right thats what they all say).
The CARFAX shows instances of "Recommended maintenance performed" every 3-5k miles, whatever that means, from when it was first purchased to about 35k miles. Then theres a line that reads "Registration issued or renewed", and the maintenance is much more sparse. There's a gap between 35k and 63k miles where nothing shows up on the CARFAX, and another gap between 63k and 75k. I hope that means the guy finally learned how to change his fluids.
Anyway, the sticker is $17k and I think that is outrageous for a car with that many miles. Can anyone give me some insight about WRXs with this mileage and condition (e.g. if maintenance costs will be killing me soon)? What is the most you'd pay for a car like this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I bought my 07 wrx tr and was also in really great shape. With 36,000 miles. For $17,500. I had a $2,500 trade in and was able to talk them down $1,000. So walked out the door for alittle over $14,000 after tax and tags. I would say try to talk them down alittle.
