I hope it works out in your favor, I just know how people treat sti's/wrx's. Seems to be older wrx's are treated worse than the rest though. So with it being a new sti hopefully it works out. I wish I would have just bought an sti, I have about 20k into my car with purchase price, repairs and modifications and I still want to do a rebuild, brakes, transmission gears, etc.

Update... got pre-approved by my bank, so that is power in my pocket, now the search is heating up... the one in Brandon, Florida is a great one but I think someone has beaten me to it, sooo... the search continues... I'm looking at others that may seem best suited to me... rock on!

It needs a new power steering pump and is listed way below NADA book value. I talked to the guy and he said the only thing done to it is a factory option intake. The rest is bone stock. What do you all think?

Is there a difference between an STi steering pump and a normal WRX/non-WRX steering pump? How hard is this thing to change out on the WRX/STi?

The idea ofknowing something is wrong and buying I anyways seems weird. Other things may be wrong as well, or he could have held the steering wheel and blew it?

Well, I dunno how or why it went out, and maybe it could be something as simple as the PS serpentine is too tight or not tight at all. I wouldn't know without actually seeing it. I talked to him via the phone and I asked him why he has it listed 3K below NADA book value. He said bcz he wants to unload it quick and have something else before school starts back. I think I need more info than he can give me to make a trip to South Fl, but if there is anyone else in the Palm Beach/Miami area who wants a great deal, I would jump on it. I am like you...I don't like to buy something that has a problem without knowing all the details of the problem. I priced a nw PS pump, and they are almost $400. I have never wrenched on Subies, but there is always a first time, and I don't like to picture myself trying to drive home in an STi with a whiny PS and no PS feel. Yeah, sounds whimpy, but Palm Beach isn't exactly over the county line for me

I dunno if these links I am posting are actually working... but...

1 owner, clean CARFAX, bone stock, low miles, and listed below NADA book value... what do U think?

I'm with U on that one... something else isn't right and he said his uncle did all the work on the car as far as regular maint so I dunno why he didn't change out the PS pump...anyway, it seems too good to be true at that price
