Looking forward to getting a new WRX :)

I am on a market to replace my aging Lexus IS300, and decided to go with WRX.
Now just to find the right price or tradein value for my car - dealers here in NYC are scumbags.
Reading up on WRX vs STI I doubt for my driving style STI will be a better choice, yes the 6-speed is nice. Is the suspension difference is a huge advantage?
Also, I am a bit bumped with WRX equipped with Summer Performance tires, and I have to get a new set of All-Season's or a set of stealies with winter rubber (not sure of the optimal fitment though) - which one do you guys living in North East prefer?

Welcome to the forum! I live in New Jersey and plan on getting a different set of wheels with winter tires on them for the winter, 1 because the summer tires will do nothing for me and 2 because the stock rims are pretty nice and I don't want salt getting on them and eating the finish off either.
