Lightbulb NEW 2010 WRX Premium owner!

    Hey all!
I bought this car yesterday, and I'm already in love with it.
Its the pearl white premium package, and its stock with 265 hp.
I bought it with 8k miles on it, and the previous owner had the SPT dual exhaust, rear bumber, and side skirts among other things, added. Looks like this may have been an ordered Subaru.
Anyways, their loss, my gain. its gorgeous and i STOLE it, when it comes to price.
With no money down or trade in, i got it for $20k.

*ANYWAYS, looking for a loud BOV that wont cause problems with the car???? REALLY looking for info on this asap...

*Also, any other suggestions on a shopping list, and suggestions on prioritizing in which order to add to/modify the car.
Definitely need a BOV first, so anything after that, im open to your words of wisdom.
I drove an 04 STI before, this is a totally different car, being a 2010.

    Here's the new project!

    Welcome.Sounds like a great purchase.Very few miles.

About the BOV.What is your objective? You won't find many fans of that mod here. The BOV does not give any performance gain & could possibly cause engine management issues. And your car is still under warranty.

I would start with suspension mods, bushings, short shifter.

    Thanks Tony!
Yeah I definitely need a short shifter, i feel like im driving a school bus with that huge shifter.
i've been reading about BOV's on this site and i'm actually VERY turned off on getting one now.
it sounds like the "cool sound" isnt worth what MAY happen..
I have to drive my kid to school in this thing, so i has to be reliable. a bov isnt worth that to me.

    any other engine mods?
    i like fast.

    thanks again!

You can find shifter upgrades here TiC 08 Impreza Super Shifter Set I highly reccomend getting the full kit instead of just the lever. The bushings improve shift feel & its like driving a different car.

Engine mods? You could start out by getting an intake system CobbTuning.com - WRX SF Intake System and an AP with stage 1 map CobbTuning.com - '10 AccessPORT

If you just want to hear the bov you can do a intake and you will be able to hear it. I have the AEM CAI with the stock bpv and it is pretty loud.

Get stage 2 downpipe and catback and protune ur intake is just fine u wont see much gains from intakes I only say gains when I upgraded my turbo. Intake should not be your first mod imo, also bov to each his own been running my hks ssqv for more then 3 years with no problems. Yeah I run rich between shifts but it makes a nice little fireball once in awhile. Thats my 2 cents

P.s. Welcome to the club do u still have the sti

Absolutely,if the OP does not care for the 3 yr/36000 mile warranty & wants to go all out, then a Stage 2 protune with downpipe & catback would be the way to go.
