New member looking to buy an Impreza

Hi im thinking about selling my 2010 fusion and buying an Impreza 2.5i or maybe a wrx. Is there any issues with the 06-07 2.5i's with the select shift tranny? I didnt do enough research before I got my fusion and I hate the auto tranny. I would get a 5 speed but this will be a car for my wife also.

    Thanks

In that case, get her an auto 2.5i, get yourself a 5-spd wrx.

Yeah that is the plan pretty much get her a nice auto and get me a 5-speed. Just trying to see if there are any known issues with the 2.5i auto. Like is the tranny slow or does it slip or any engine issues or anything? I know a few people with subaru's and they seem to be really reliable.

subie AT's are actually pretty good technology - they've got fancy electronics for the center diff, in some cases that gear-selecting thing, they don't fall apart, they tend to last a long time, etc. Only downside is that they have not enough gears.

MUCH better than ford or chrysler AT's, that's for sure.
