    Greetings all! I am looking forward to enjoying my new ride and making new friends... For now my ride is mostly stock... and to be honest I plan on mostly enjoying it as is... but ya never know! If you are in the Fukuoka area drop me a line!

    The OP is in Japan. While we (in the US) didn't get the STi until 2004, Subaru has been producing the "STi" Impreza per WRC homologation criteria since 1994.

    Actually, the version 1-6 WRX STis had a few more "desirable" traits over the modern day WRX STis (in "" because it's not desirable to all)... including a 2.0L high-revving motor (8000 rpm redline) on the version 5-7, lack of AVCS in version 1-5, cable-operated throttle in version 1-5, much lighter weight ~ 2700 lbs, and twin-scroll turbochargers in some models. It wasn't until 2006 - the exodus of Subaru from the WRC - that the rest of the world received the 2.5L Subaru motor in a WRX STi.

    2000 like the very last GC or the very first bugeye? From what I've seen, there are bugeyes marked as '00 in japan...

    Either way - JEALOUS. Post pics!
