I just bought a 2011 Limited DGM 4 dr with short throw shifter, all weather floor mats, carbon fiber trunk trim and red interior lights for $27,391. Window sticker was just below $31k. I didn't even negotiate...they just offered it to me at that and said it was as low as they could go.

I just bought my STI from Subaru Superstore in Chandler, AZ. You should check them out. I walked away with 0.9% financing for 60 months.

Wow that's a great financing deal. I thought the current special is 1.9%, 2.9% for anything over 36mo.

How does that work? I'm not exaggerating at all...that's exactly what I paid. But I don't understand how I could get it below dealer cost...I was floored when they offered it to me at that price...I knew it was crazy good, but not that good.

"invoice" is a word used by dealers to claim cost. TRUE cost is a lot less than "invoice" Nobody will ever buy a vehicle at or below true dealer cost...The only way to achieve a purchase at or below true dealer cost is with subaru incentives such as bonus bucks or what have you.

The 2.9% is the going rate for Subaru in Texas. I researched the AZ dealers since I was meeting my truck buyer there anyway. The 0.9% was something that I couldnt pass up. They were not happy moving at all on the STI price. I am a USAA military member so I get better pricing than most. They emphasized over and over about how they dont need to deal on STIs and usually have people pay the dealer MSRP. It got really old hearing that but due to their limited availability I guess I understand now.

The events in Japan will only make it harder for potential buyers to bargain on a shrinking number of available WRXs/STIs.

Well.....today is the day when I go down to the dealership and put an order in for a '11 - decided not to go for a premium to be closer to the monthly payment I want.

Getting a DMG wrx, and the price is good I believe, 500 under invoice is what we ended up at.

Not sure what to do though...Put an order in and wait - given the current closures at the plant it might be a while before I get it - although I was told that if something arrives at the US port in the mean time I could possibly pick it up if it matches up with my order details.

They have a DMG with less than 15 miles at the dealership, but they said the front bumper was damaged during deliver while they were getting it off of the truck - they took pictures of the damage, completely replaced the front bumper and its as good as new now - or is it? lol...

What would you do? Go for one on the lot, or put an order in? - I'm doing one of the 2 today I guess...

Meh, it's just a bumper. If it's been replaced and repainted the car is still new enough that the paint will still match.

In my case, I made sure there was a color/trim/option combo available at a nearby dealership before I sold my previous car. I'm not sure if I would've stayed sane if I had to wait 6 weeks or more (or never, given the situation we have in Japan now) for delivery. See if there's a car at other nearby dealerships. I'm sure they'll match or do better than the price you got.

Well...went in yesterday, the body damage was a different story from what I was told the first time around - and the car had over 100 miles - so put an order in and now just have to stay patient soon to be mine!
