ok if you have a TBE [turboback exhaust] you absolutely 100% MUST have a tune.

is there anyway you can get in touch with the previous owner to see if its been tuned? stay out of boost until youre able to 1) find out if it's been tuned or 2) get a tune

no problem! it really depends. there are lots of different tuning methods

    1) opensource tune from a professional tuner [$200-600]
    2) off the shelf map from a handheld tuner (like a cobb accessport) [$600]
    3) you can tune it yourself with a tatrix cable/laptop... [i think maybe 100$ or so. someone can chime in and give you more info about it though bc i'm not really sure]

Ok for this might seem stupid but by open source do you mean go to a shop and get it done? And for the cobb accessport hand held tuner would it be simple and easy to use? and Do you think it could possibly be the waste gate making the turbo surge?

    1) yes. but you can also do an opensource tune yourself w/ a tatrix cable & laptop
    2) yes. i have an AP [accessport] and its EXTREMELY easy to use. just plug & play. takes about 5 minutes to flash the stage 2 map
    3) honestly have no idea.
