    scoob newb question?

    Read here on some DIY free mod you can turn your stock intake box into a short RAM intake. Is this true? I have an 04 sti.

    I don't know if it becomes a short ram per se BUT my friend did this on his lancer. If you take off part of the airbox it will act more like a Short RAM and even give a nice little whoosh when you accelerate but I don't know how good that is for the car. Wait on others to post before trying that out

    Thanks man. From what I read you gotta butcher the box and all your really using is a 3 inch piece for the sensor and everything else stays the same. I don't feel like spending 300 if I can spend 60 on a k&n cone and a little elbow grease lol

    It's a Snorkus Delete, basically takes the resonator out of the intake, giving you the nice intake sound. Doesn't change the placement of the filter so it doesn't make it a short ram. Do not put a K&N cone on your intake, it will cause nothing but problems. If you have to do something, just buy a better drop in filter

    So sonorous delete and drop in filter are best route? Is the sound noticeable? I wanna sound like a school his lol

    That makes sense..gonna start hackin away on lunch break..no hack saw but hopefully my boot knife will work.
