    Smile Newb! :-) '04 'Goon

Hey guys, been at Nasioc for a while, and it's just way too cluttered for me over there.

Figured I'd post up some shots of the '04 Goon. She's got 105K on the odo, previous owner let her go for pay-off. Hell of a deal I couldn't pass up! Sat under a tree in his driveway for approx. two years, other than starting it and running it around the block for a few minutes.

Before picking her up (bone stock and unmolested):

Nothing special done to it, now. Just a TXS RFL 4" decatted DP to 3" MBE, decatted UP, and AP2 w/ STGII tune. Not much else other than '08 WRX wheels, and stereo upgrade. Future plans are only to install a decent suspension setup to lower it mildly, and improve handling. Recently replaced the gearoil and diff oil, will be doing the timing belt and pullies, etc. when I get back home to take care of it in a month or so.

    Comments welcome

Thanks . She's got some battle damage from shopping carts that require PDR, and maybe a clearcoat restore to the hood and scoop (common stuff).

No on the black wheels, thanks though . Plan is to shoot the 08 wheels with a burnt copper flake to pop the flake out of the paint.

Nice. I'm viewing the pics on my phone so I guess I can't see the paint damage. Still looks in good shape though!

    Thanks

I'm probably going to just throw some decent springs and struts on it, and some other tweaks like stb's and tie bars, endlinks, etc.

    Welcome!

+1 on the NASIOC comment. It is typically much more laid back in this neck of the woods.

    Plans for sways?

LOL! Yeah, it's a bit congested.

As for sways, not really sure, TBH. In my history, I've primarily dealt with Whiteline Suspension, or Suspension Techniques, or Cusco. (Coming from Nissan camp) Not really schooled in the dynamics of this particular chassis, so I'm doing quite a bit of research. Friend of mine hasn't done much to his (Also MY04, though PSM), other than ebay STB's and subframe lock bolt kit, and it feels worlds tighter than mine.

Will likely go 22mm in the front and 22/24mm in the rear, a subframe lockbolt kit, anti-lift kit, gearbox shift kit, and an endlink conversion kit. Something about ABS plastic as the endlinks scares me! Lastly, likely a control arm brace (cross bar I guess?)

I don't want to go crazy with it, as it's primarily a DD. Just a few things to make it a little more fun to drive

It's from Nastycock, but it's good The OFFICIAL Swaybar & Endlink FAQ ! - NASIOC. From what I read, you'll want to go 24mm front, 22mm rear. Upgrading the rears will help the back-end step out a bit, but it won't necessarily improve handling. I'm running 22mm front/rear... I wanted 24mm front, 22mm rear, but Perrin wouldn't mix-and-match for the kit .

These are a major PITA to install, but worth it (from what I've heard)

    Good endlinks are integral.
