Another "how to properly break in a car" thread

I'm extremely sorry, to bring up another beat to death topic again... My friend and I was debating about the break in period. We both agreed it was up to 1000 miles and to keep under 4k. But our differences stopped there. He said it is okay to take it up to 4krpm in 5th gear meaning that exceeds 90mph. Wouldn't that be bad for a brand new car? Please don't flame me . I'm pretty new.

That's fine but I just wouldn't do it for long. And you do want to take it over 4k a few times at least in the first 1k miles.

Follow the break in procedure in the owners manual and you should be okay... 1K miles isn't that bad to wait to start dumping on it, and let the motor get worn enough before you start stomping on it to prevent problems down the road...

You've posted this same question in 3 different threads, no need to do that.
