Yea, I was hesitant as well... but at this point, this is one of the very very very few subies that are 04+ and under 120k miles.

Really? I'm surprised... I wasn't aware that my car had such low mileage. I'm sitting at just over 86,000 miles on the odometer.


BTW, that car is not stock. It has an aftermarket intake as well.

eh. intake+ bov.. i'd pass. some intakes require custom tuning to run properly... those 2 mods + the "custom hid's" would steer me very far away.

bone stock = the way to go. if you cant find one within budget.. look outside of your immediate area, or try to find another type of car

I plan on putting in all stock parts into the rig when I get it. Honestly, everyones been trying to convine me to get a mk4 gti or a mazda3 hatch, but I like these subies more.....

Not completely, but I'm not a huge fan of the bug eyes. I may just wait a few weeks until something comes up, but I am a bit desperate (work/school)

Get your compression and leakdown tests done. If the tests pass, you can consider purchasing the car. But Dez is right... owners that slap intake + BOV + HID on WRXs TYPICALLY do not know what they are doing and drive the snot out of these vehicles -- usually drop-shifting at 5K RPM

there are plenty of other cars out there. i personally love GTIs. they're great cars but kinda scary buying used & parts are expensive to replace. if you can find a certified used one in your price range that would probably be your best bet.


also- try looking out of state. i know you were searching 180+ miles but sometimes you gotta travel. a few months ago i was looking at STi's and i was willing to travel to california. sometimes if the price is right- it's worth to pay the extra money to ship it, or fly out there & drive it back.

Just be patient and you'll find the right car. I personally like the 04 sobies. Stock is better plus low miles. You can always get a different car if you can't find a sti. Like a Evo.

any Evo in the sub-$11K range is one that you do NOT want to buy.

yeah.. i think he misread what the OP was looking for. he's looking for a wrx, not an sti & his budget is ~11k
