Hi all! Just became a first-time Subaru owner and I couldn't be happier with my 2011 WRX 4-Door DGM. I'm not much of a car guy, but my WRX was first-drive, first-love. Just thought I'd introduce myself to the community, and I look forward to hanging around here and learning about my new love.
Welcome, congrats, that's a good choice in finish. I think you will like the car. Enjoy the site.

Thank you, SD_GR! I finally got my WRX past the 1,000 mi break-in period (although I was still able to do more "spirited" driving while keeping the rpms below 4K in my WRX than I was ever able to do in any of my previous cars) and have put in some mileage doing canyon runs down here in SoCal. It's one thing to have a nice car to drive; it's totally another thing to have a car you love to drive. My WRX has made me fall in love not only with a car but with driving a car.
Here are some pics of my car:

Sure, lol! Certainly, there are things to love about Cali and things to hate about it. Either way, I think I have the right car for living here (or for that matter anywhere). Besides exploring more of the canyons and roads down here in SoCal, I'm looking forward to driving my car up north to the Bay Area as well as sections of Hwy 1.
Thanks!
I'm excited for you when you finally get your car. I was fortunate enough to find my car in stock, so I was able to drive it off my dealer's lot (no waiting, yay!). I normally prefer lighter colors (silver is usually my favorite color for a car), but DGM is a beautiful color for this car, methinks.

Nice Looking '11 WRX there!

Welcome, and congrats on the new car!
I kind of had the same "first-drive first-love" kind of thing too. I was out with a friend looking at cars for him and I fell in love with the '11 Rex and then ordered one after I drove a 4dr limited. I wasn't even planning on getting a new car before I saw the wrx lol.

Hellooo '11 REX
Thanks, all, for the warm welcome. The sad(?) thing is, I fear I've caught the upgrade bug everyone with a Subie seems to get... quite contagious... I find myself looking through thread after thread, and website after website, about engine management, TBE, suspension mods, etc. It's funny because I've never really been a "car guy." With all my previous cars, I couldn't really care less about doing things to them (the only exception was my VW Passat 1.8T, for which I swapped the ECU to boost turbo pressure and get a better power band... so I suppose it was my first foray into engine management).

Don't do it! Don't START!! hahaha
Seriously don't start. Hit the X in the top right corner of your browser (assuming you are not using a MAC) and don't look at the for sale stuff! LOL
