Just moved to Virginia, looking for some information.

New to the ClubWRX site and have recently moved to Virginia. Can anyone recommend an auto shop in the Sterling, VA area? Not looking for any modifications, just someone who knows Subaru's. I have a 2002 WRX sedan with 145k. I am the original owner, purchased my Skubie Thanksgiving of 2001 with 3 miles on it. I have no complaints with the car other than the typical check engine light "misfire on # 1 cylinder". Thanks.

Plugs are changed every 30k with the OEM plugs. At least I am assuming they are OEM as I purchase plugs from Subaru dealership. I think the "misfire" debacle has been beat to death and have been reading the posts that I have a pretty good starting point. Although I will say that the car has been doing this the past 9 years, pretty much within 3 months of purchasing the car new the engine light came on. Subaru had it, replaced plugs and within two weeks light was back on. Back to Subaru who did something with the ECU, problem solved? Light randomly comes on, stop at an AutoZone (only because they will clear check engine light with no charge) and life goes on. Performance wise the car has always been sluggish at low rpms. I don't race the car, so this is not an issue. The odd thing I have recently noticed is that around 4k rpm I have a miss. Only in that rpm range, no issues below or above. I keep up with the maintenance, follow the owner's manual.

STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THEIR AUTO SERVICES. They are incompetent. The only thing they are good for is getting parts.
