    How old is the belt? When was the last time you adjusted the tension on it?

    Cork is a beautiful city (in the pictures I've seen of it), I hope to see it some day.

    Does the power steering work when it's not at full lock?
    As the other members have said, check the belt. If the belt is loose and too much pressure is put on it the belt will slip, causing the pump/pulley to stop.
