24, married, no children. I have literally seen more children stare at this car than anyone else (it might be the bright blue color). My co-worker thinks I am awesome for getting one. My wife gets people trying to talk to/race her in either this car or the s2000. I try not to get jealous. No one talks to or races me. I must look old and lame.

Put some flames on the side of the Subi. That will get them racing.

Totally off topic but... have you ever noticed that after a good drive you can use the hood scoop as a hand warmer?

Ooh,hang on. That is the throb of a turbocharged flat four engine. A sound which, all over the world, heralds the imminent arrival of a moron - JC.

I really hadn't thought about "age appropriate" until reading this post. I wanted a WRX, and I bought one. I don't get any bad looks from anyone, aside from those driving riced out 1992 civics. But it's more of a "Sh*t, there is no way I can beat your WRX, so I'll just rev my 1.6 litre with chopped airbox, and look tough."

In fact, I was at a gas station last weekend filling up with $3.65 premium (damn it...) and a guy in his later 40's pulled up in a beautiful brand new 5 series bimmer. Classy car. He got out, looked at me and said, "that must be a ton of fun to drive, nice car, nice job." I gave him the rest of whatever washer fluid I couldn't fit in my reservoir which he graciously took and we chatted until both our wives started to give us death stares.

Is there a negative stigma? Maybe, but who cares. Those who know, know. And those that don't are driving 1992 riced out civics or Toyota highlanders.

(no offense to anyone who drives civics or highlanders... just making a point)

I got the same reactions when I told folks I was trading in my Z06. I'm 39 and love the youthful feeling I get from driving my 2011 WRX. Like others have stated drive what makes you feel good and just ignore the occasional smacktard you might encounter.
