Pull the code with a scan tool. You can go to a local auto zone and they will do it for you.

Then just google the code and see what it says

Any time the CEL comes on you need to have the code pulled in order to know why it came on. Also, in order for us to know where to begin assisting you, we need to know that code.

P0442 evap system small leak

Have you ever changed your fuel pump? I did when I did a turbo swap and I kept getting this code too. Apparently I shredded my gas pump gasket by tightening the cover a little to much...so I replaced that gasket which was no fun and I will never ever do that again...but that code has never come back yet! Also it only came on when I would be in the last 1/4 tank of gas...

check ur gas cap and make sure its tight and the rubber seal around the cap is ok and the surface it seals against on the filler neck is clean and smooth

if thats all ok it becomes a bit more in depth... maybe a hose came off the canister?

on my 03 its at the right rear i think right behind the right rear wheel
