    Hey all,
recently purchased a "new" 2008 wrx and i love it! I'm up in chilly old northern ontario, canada and am looking into lifting the car a touch to avoid the winter snow banks. just curious, what are a few ways i can do this and what type of costs am i looking at?
    Thanks!!

check that site out its a offroad subaru site...
i know they make 1" spacers that go ontop of the strutmounts that require longer studs to be installed... theres also forester struts although not sure if they are still interchangeable

well i was thinking... me being a machinist i could make something myself. I saw this video on you tube
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sekbbPQtwIU
but am wondering if it would be enough support I was thinking of making an actual 1" or 2" stainless steel puck but then the studs come into mind. how does one put longer studs in?

Personally I don't trust myself enough to construct anything that modifies my suspension or brakes... at least from a safety standpoint. Depends on how great of a machinist (and designer) you fancy yourself. Just be sure to get it approved by DOT (well, the DOT equivalent in Canada) so that you are not endangering anyone else on the road.

Taller snow tires? Get a 225/50 instead of a 225/45 or so? Just a thought...
