I loved my 07 - but when I saw the new STI....
I just picked it up yesterday. Will post pics when I can get the car clean again. I had to drive a good distance in rain after getting it so it is all types of dirty.
Details - 2011 STI Limited, Plasma Blue Pearl, Silver BBS, and of course... boost gauge.
The new interior is awesome - but still not sure why they can't put a decent stereo in a $38K car. The new leather is much nicer than my 07 had. Haven't played with the Si drive or C-diff stuff yet. Can't wait for break-in to be over!

Went for the sedan. Back seats fold down, so I can carry my 7 foot fishing poles.
Only mods I see for this car are some cheap-o rims with snow tires, and possibly me putting my pioneer in that I took out of the WRX.

Congrats! So it looks like you went from the wagon to the sedan?

Yes... you need engine management for engine modifications

loosin my mind... Still less than 500 miles on it.
My 2 front speakers rattle the front doors when ANY bass is present. I can't even listen to talk radio. I have tracked it down to the panels of the doors not being 100% mounted to the door frame. Any bass has the inside door panel vibrating on the metal. When the music is loud enough, you can't hear it. When you are just listening at low/moderate volume - it really is annoying.
Anyone with the premium stereo on a 2011 WRX or STI have this? I hate taking my car to a dealer to fix - but for $38K, I expected the stereo to work.

My base model 2011 wrx has that rattle, and the more I read, the more I'm seeing this problem
Congratulations!
Would love to see some pics.
I've always been thoroughly unimpressed with the Subaru "premium" stereos... Keep us updated.
On my 07, I would tear anything apart and fix the problem. On this car, I struggle with that. This is the most expensive car I have ever owned - and I just know I would scratch something pulling the door off. I am definitely making it a subaru problem.
I drove 500 miles to buy my car, because the dealer here in Vermont wasn't even in the ballpark on the deal - and they didn't have an STI Limited in stock. So... I spent lots of time talking to them, but in the end - $3000 was too big a gap. Now I have to take my car to them after all that, because I am certainly not putting another 500 miles on this car because of speakers!

The stereo on this car is light years better than the "premium stereo" that came on my 07 limited WRX.
Trouble I have this time in replacing it, is the car has steering column controls and handsfree buttons. They did a good job making the stereo look like it belongs in the car - so I hate to rip it out. Also - pre '08 cars were so easy to get the stereo out. I can't see an easy way on this car - looks like you have to stick flathead screwdrivers in the dash to pry off tabs. Before, all you did was take the shift knob off, expose 2 screws, and could remove the faceplate by pulling.

its actually a lot easier than you think. Granted yes you will have to use a very smooth/flat/dull prying tool to gently work off the trim around the radio.. but once you get it far enough to get your fingers under it you can pop it right off. After that.. its 4 screws and the harness and the radio comes right out. I've mentioned before that the scary part is that it can be stolen in a matter of seconds if the thief knows what they're dealing with.
Every time I pick up my factory radio (2010 basic package) I really like the way the face looks... it just sounded like poo and really lacked in featuresIf it had the bluetooth/ipod built in like the new ones.. I'd have fed it to an amp to increase output instead of replacing it and just used a portable nav unit when I needed it.
