New wrx owner =D

Hey everyone just got done at the dmv this morning and now have a 2004 WRX that i bought for 11500 with 92k miles. The original owner put some stuff in it that makes it nice (can see on profile info). I have always wanted one of these (as of everyone else) and am looking forward to learning a bunch about these amazing cars. Already have my first question! =D The dude i bought it from said it needs a new O2 senser, should i buy it stock or aftermarket? and i cant get to it till the weekend or weekend after so should the car be fine till then? (engine light on)

Welcome... post pictures when you get a chance.... the o2 sensor will just deplete your mpg, but should be fine... just get to it asap... buy an oem replacement, the aftermarket and universal ones can be a major PITA to put on and there could be some fitment issues with them as well...

Which O2 sensor? Front or rear?

Both are in the exhaust, but at different parts. The front O2 is in the passenger side exhaust manifold, while the rear O2 is after the last catalytic converter.

Get the code read at Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.

oh ok i remember now him saying it was on the passenger side by the exhaust manifold (couldnt remember the side =p) and taht you can kinda see it if you pop the hood and look at it, but yeah that one lol

I believe retail on that sensor is ~$150 at the dealership.

Lol that was my screen name for aim i made back in middle school and didnt know how to spell nissan haha and still use it =p
