auto or manual?
I don't believe manual had traction control even up to then - we get enough traction from the diffs automatically giving torque to the least slippery wheel.
The automatic has always had something like VDC or VTD or summat. Not sure that can turn off.
Why do you need it off? The spare tire is safe to run with it on (just keep a very slow speed), and if you're understeering, just throw a bigger sway bar on the back...
