    '06 - '07 VS '08 - '09

The '08/'09s look to be a whole new car, but is it a better one? I like the styling of the '06/'07s better but if the newer ones are a "better" car, they might be something to look at.

The newer ones look like Accords to me, not necessarily bad, just not WRX like.

I've seen prices for the newer ones equal to and sometimes less than the older versions.

    Thank you for any opinions.

The 09 in particular is definitely better, as it takes the improved body of the 08, adds power, and improves the handling. The 08 has the hatch body in its favour (the most logical layout for a front-engined car to give a small exterior with a "big" interior, good aero, and overall a practical choice); however, the 08 was "softer" than the 09 and some would say than the 07. Note that the 09 had a batch of motor issues; search for more info.

From what I have read the '08 is more of a refined/subdued car than the '07. Does one or the other have better performance (speed, handling, overall more "fun" to drive)?

Is the '08 "Your father's Subaru"? If you know what I mean.
