Hello, welcome.
Steve you might consider the STi for the gearbox alone, even if you don't care about DCCD.

Hey everyone. I've been doing a bunch of research for the past few months, mostly just reading and searching and not posting. I've been an Evo guy and looking for my next car for several months now. After looking at cost and what I want out of a car, I have finally decided that the 2011 WRX hatch is perfect. I can get a great deal on an Evo X but the usuable cargo space with the hatch, being 400lbs lighter, and boxer sound edged out the X. I'll definitely go Stage 2 but nothing past that. I've modded my Evos extensively and am looking to just keep things mild this time around.
I was looking at 08+ STIs too but after consideration I won't ever use DCCD and the WRX will be just fine. So I'm shopping around now for the best deal on an 11 WRX.
My previous cars:
2003 Nissan 350Z Track (black)
2003 Mitsu Evo 8 (blue)
2002 Subaru WRX w/ 06 STI engine swap
2003 Mitsu Evo 8 (yellow) --current car
...and soon...
2011 Subaru WRX hatch (dark gray)
I bought my current Evo from a buddy who sold it to me real cheap, so I couldn't pass it up. It's got a ported 9 turbo, intake, tbe, 3.8" fmic, 1000cc injectors, Walbro, coilovers, and Evo 9 seats/taillights/BBS SE rims/bov. It has a dual map of 91 octane and E85. If I were to get cams, on E85 I'd be over 400whp but I have a really mild tune right now since the car has 112k miles on it!
I know a lot about the Z and Evo 8/9 but am still learning about Subies. This forum seems like a nice community so I hope to contribute where I can. I don't feel that "Evo's are teh bestest!"...I don't care what car you drive as long as you enjoy driving it. So please don't hold the Evo thing against me!
Also, I have the same username on most forums (NASIOC, my350z, SoCalEvo, etc).
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks everyone!
The Evo I have now is not so great picture-wise. My first one was mint looking but the current ride has it's share of wear. That's why I got it cheap.
I get my E85 in Pomona. I have 4x 5gallon canisters that I bring with and fill the car + those and I'm good for a week. It's about an hour round-trip. Not too bad but a bit of a hassle.
Lemme see what pics I have on this machine...1 of them has the Subie in it.
P.S. I'm 35 but still have a playful side and like seeing what I can do to get by "the man" (i.e., the DMV). My 1st Evo (blue) had the license plate "EVO <3ON"...with the <3 being a heart symbol.![]()

I really like the blue evo, especially the evo hard on license plate![]()
It is very refreshing to see an Evo 8 (or 2!) that has not been completely riced out (very difficult to find around these parts)![]()
