i was thinking about purchasing an intake. ive heard from people that i may need a tune...just for an intake?? just a question. im in the process of getting a catback as well.

for a cold air intake u need a tune. for a short ram u do not. the stock intakes for our cars are very good u really don't need an aftermarket one. that being said i still bought an aftermarket one. it's worth it just for the sound

Sorry, but you have been misinformed.

Some CAIs are perfectly fine with the stock MAF-scaling (e.g., APS 65mm), some aren't (e.g., Injen). Some SRIs are perfectly fine with the stock MAF-scaling (e.g., K&N Typhoon), some aren't (e.g., Perrin).

Either way, MAF-scaling is good, as even the OEM airbox can use some tweaking.

hmm. good stuff kidd. ill look into it. that and a catback is all i want for now. im worrying bout suspension a little later on. i was lookin at the cobb intake since i may be getting a cobb catback. just a thought.

Don't waste your time with that intake unless you get the heatshield with it. Be aware you're not going to be making any power gains with an intake and catback.

thats perfectly fine with me. im looking for sound and fun. just keeping the car reliable and mostly stock since its my daily driver and i do alot of driving. ill toy around the suspension later on down the line. catback, intake(maybe), suspesion, a set of rims, and thats about it. once i get a beater pick up truck sooner or later, then ill put more money into this thing. its just so damn expensive!! lol

If all you're looking for is the sound, try doing the silencer delete mod. Search around on the forum here, it'll add a bit of snarl at WOT, and will let you hear your turbo and BPV functioning too.
