New owner of WRX

Just wanted to say hello. Picked up a 2008 WRX w/23k miles about a month ago. Very happy with purchase and car. I'm not new to Subarus, I've owned 2 outbacks, 2.5 RS, and currently a Forrester is my everyday vehicle. I don't plan on doing a lot to the WRX, some mods on the agenda: cold air intake and short shifter. I welcome all suggestions and I look forward to gaining some knowledge from the forum.

CAI = bad idea for these cars (at least that is what those more experienced than me say.. has to do with screwing up the air sensors easily)

get a turbo-back exhaust and a tune if you'd like to get some cheap hp.

Short throw shifter seems to be a good call.

I wouldn't go with the CAI. If you aren't too heavy into a huge amount of power, I'd look into redoing the exhaust, and getting a good tune. Tuning is oddly important with these cars it seems.

Past that I'd let the suspension soak up what money you have left.
