Hey I just got a stock 02 wrx wagon it has 2L turbo 5 speed in it.

Im going to re do the clutch and rad first.

Whats the best thing to do next? Inter cooler and exhaust?

    What parts are best?

    How should I do it?

Ignore the engine. Ignore the exhaust, but consider the up pipe only.

    Start at the wheels.

    Subaru parts are best.

Look at suspension, steering, and chassis first.

    See link from my sig.

EDIT: The FIRST thing to do is to make sure the car has had all the factory maintenance required for its age. That can be a lot of $ and can take lots of time. Do that first thing instead of anything else.

Don't change the intercooler until you change the turbo - it's fit perfectly for your needs (too big and you get more lag)...

You can check the "first mod" thread for ideas, but here's what I would say:

    0. first thing's first - pictures

    1. Before ANYTHING else, replace your uppipe with a catless one. Otherwise, the cat will probably ruin your turbo. Good for a few hp as well

    2. Sooner rather than later, upgrade the brakes and the suspension - apparently, the stock brakes are terrible even a bit of power past stock... suspension will improve eveything too (strut braces = really good)

    3. Exhaust - at least a downpipe, but if you want to go all the way, get a good, reputable turbo-back system

    4. A tune - for the exhaust, so you don't get boost creep, and you do get everything possible out of the car.

    5. Intake

    6. Another tune, or your engine is toast.

    7. etc.

Have fun with the vehicle, and I guarantee someone's going to reply telling me how awful my advice is - hey, I tried

read read read! so many posts with this exact question answered

    my opinion
up pipe + turboback exhaust + tune
    springs + struts + swaybars

by the time all this stuff is done you will have read so much that you'll know exactly what you want next!
