    Wrx?---sti?

Hey guys I'm a new member and deciding to buy a subaru of my own!!! The problem is I don't know which one I should get. I want a car that is fast but still drivable in the city. I leaning towards the WRX but I feel like if I get the WRX I will be missing out on the Sti.

So I guess what I'm really asking is how do you feel driving your WRX or WRX Sti on the road?

Which do you think better suits me?

    Thanks! =]

WRX= manual seats (altho driver seat is adjustable 6 ways), auxillary input (for ipod or mp3 players), base model but you can add options (like foglights)

Premium= auxillary input, heated seats, foglights, moonroof, 6 disc in dash changer, 10 speakers, controls for stereo on steering wheel, and i believe power driver seat

Limited= 3 color choices, everything above, leather seats, hid lights, sirius or xm radio.

I think I covered everything, but I may have missed some standard equipment for each. They all come with the same engine and power output. All models also only come with summer only tires, so keep that in mind if you live somewhere with cold/snowy winters. I bought the base WRX cuz I wanted to go fast and I dont regret it 1 bit . The radio isnt great on the base but I can hook up my Iphone to auxillary input and drive around all day. I have had mine just under 3 weeks and I can't stand to see it just sit in the driveway or in the parking lot at work and not be driving it. You can't go wrong with whichever trim level you choose, because I shopped around and no one has a car with AWD turbo and the same reliability for the same price.

I have the WRX premium and you get what you stated plus sun roof, heated seats although you do not get power driver's seat. Not sure if it's an option. I did not even consider the STI as it is costs much more than the WRX and more importantly insurance is outrageous, one of the highest cars to insure if not the highest.

the only one who can answer this correctly is your insurance company

however, yes. insurance on an STi would usually be more than a wrx.

I agree with Paul, the STi is overall a better choice but it all comes down to your income

04-07 Sti's maybe and definitely 08 Sti over 08 WRX but... 09 and up WRX vs STi not so much. Sure the Sti has the 6sp, and the diff... but the WRX is quicker and the insurance will be ALOT lower not to mention the car itself is cheaper. Besides, guys with the STi's have God complexes.

    ^^ You weirdo.

Remember, it's not all about the 1/4 mile. Put them both in Auto-x or a time attack and you will see a difference. But I agree with the income issue. My insurance went up $60 a month from an 07wrx to 07sti.

Not everyone auto-x and most real world encounters are on the hiway or at the street light. Im not knockin the Sti at all. Im just saying its not the end all, be all anymore.
