I picked up my slightly used 09 WRX Friday. The car had 2k on the clock and came with the SPT CBE, The lip kit, Sub, trunk net, and a tuned by SPT sticker on the side (for that extra 15 hp).

I was lurking here last night a noticed this site contains an abundance of knowledge so i figured i would stop in and say hello.


I would like to keep the warranty as long as possible, so near future upgrades (tentative) are:

STi Pink Springs
Downpipe
Some sort of Short throw
Sways
other handling specific bits.

I am not sure, I planed on looking into a little deeper before actually purchasing the Downpipe. If so it will be the first mod on the day the warranty expires.

A downpipe is a modification that many dealerships will start denying warranty claims over. Talk with local owners about the "mod-friendliness" of the dealership you use, and potential others in the area.

dealer told me i should take my down pipe off..the mechanic couldn't give me a reason but continued to stare at my exhaust like he wanted to steal it..or he was gonna lick it

get a dp for sure... And when you do make sure to get a catless up pipe and a tune.

Thanks for the advice, with what you said in mind i may wait. I am in the Army and not sure how long i will be around the area. I'll play it safe for now

Hand an Acura Service shop steal/forget to replace my Comptech Tranny cooler on my 01 CL-S so i know the feeling.

That increase in flow rate by nearly 50CFM almost makes me not give a **** about warranty...

as far as tune, Cobb offers a Military discount and a relatively locale. I understand thats the way i should go?
