Is there a difference between an 02 wrx bypass valve and a 04 STI bypass valve? Thought maybe the sti one would hold boost longer.

    Yup they are the same

If you're really into color coordination some have a gold cap and some have a silver cap. We have piles of both laying around the shop. If you are looking for more flow many aftermarket BOV's work fine so long as they are set up properly.

Gotcha. Thanks guys. I don't know how much boost i'm making (probably about only 8psi) because the previous owner of my car apparently have an mbc or ebc and disconnected the stock boost controller and the vacuum hose is just sitting in the engine bay. here's a link to the pictures and where I posted the dilemma.
