    New Whip 2010 WRX Limited

What up yinz! Just got the new whip this week, 2010 WRX Limited 5-door hatch. Just found this forum, pretty slick. Just wanted to get your opinion on the SPT upgrades. Would you guys recommend the SPT short throw, intake, and exhasut?

welcome. i'm not a fan of SPT. i think they're overpriced and if you bargain shop you can find better parts for less money.

ps: please dont call your subaru a whip. it's not a caddy on 22's.

    Welcome!! Lets see some pics!

I have the SPT shifter and exhaust and love them.

They dont make the SPT intake for the 08+s, and you really shouldnt get one without a tune! Hope this helps!!

    Enjoy it!

I like the short shifter and exhaust my wrx came with the shifter. I added the spt exhaust later. Its got a really good sound. When it first came out for the 08's Subaru was selling it really cheap I got it for only $300 from the dealership.

    SPT short-shifter: don't bother

TiC 08 Impreza Super Shifter Set Turn In Concepts

That's a much better short-shifter setup, and it's cheaper than the OEM as well

    SPT catback: meh

I personally think there are better options available, especially with SOA no longer doing their insane discount. Go to local Subaru meets, listen to exhaust options available, and choose which one suits you best. TurboXS / Borla would be the two exhausts I would choose on the '08+ if I were looking to spend around the same amount as the SPT.

people that call the WRX a "whip" deserve a Worf facepalm lol

Do NOT buy an intake that wasn't specifically designed for your tune it is NOT bolt on part. That seems to be the cardinal mistake of many new members...

I can't believe you used "Yinz" (Great Pittsburghese) then called your ride a "whip."

Though maybe its from being from Belle Vernon!

    Just kidding.

Where'd you get yours? I just ordered a 2010 WRX LTD from Bowser on 51. I got the SPT exhaust, Short Throw Shifter, Boost Guage, and a few other options. Once I get it (8 - 12 weeks ) you are more than welcome to see/hear them. I got a great deal on them and couldn't pass it up.

Definitely get the SPT exhaust. The stock exhaust sound sucks- really badly. I purchased a new Magnaflow cat back cheap only to remove it, did not fit well and is too loud. So now I am trying to re-install the stock exhaust with resonator removed, etc. just to get some sound- what a hassle. Other aftermarket systems are just too pricey.

Yo! What up yinz! Yeah, that's how we do in B.V. LOL. Thanks for the response. I got my Limited from Bowser on 51 as well. I ordered the short throw, Momo shift knob, SPT boost gauge and a couple other accessories and got them installed a little over a week from the time I purchased the WRX. I did not get the deal that I would have liked to on the parts. I am curious to see what kind of deal you got. I even had to pay for instalation (wasn't too pleased about that). I would like to get your opinion on the SPT exhaust. I am debating on getting the Perrin Stage 2 package, but still doing some research.
What color did you get? Mine is spark silver, I wanted white but the time I got it there were only 5 in a 6 state search area and they were all spark silver, so that's what I went with. Let me know what ya think bro.
