    Just bought my '05 WRX

Just bought a cherry 2005 WRX, silver in color 5 speed from Beck&Masten in Houston. I live in east texas...so I drove about 9 hours total (round-trip) to go get her...Just wanted to say Hi, and how stoked I am about this car. 50k miles and immaculatly kept by a 38 y/o soccer mom. I appreciate all the great info and advice given(really a newbie to subaru) really helped along the buying process.

    Stock intake is sufficient enough.

I would recommend a boost solenoid and tune to start off along with your exhaust. Intake is up to you but not necessary. Maybe start with a better air filter.

    Anyways congrats on the car!

Don't mean to takeover thread but are you talking about a new boost solenoid oem or aftermarket?????

I would not go with an AM boost solenoid IMO. You should DL Cobb's AccessTuner tuning guide (google this) and read the guide. Great information for starting out with a WRX no matter your current knowledge level. BTW, the guide claims that the stock boost controller is much much better than any manual boost controller you can buy due to the fact that it learns using the ECU as well as can operate in mechanical mode. Regardless, welcome

+1 on not getting a CAI, it WILL make your engine run lean (more prone to detonation and cylinder misfires), as subies use MAF sensors rather than the MAP sensors found in Hondas
