    STi Tuning..?

    Hi,

I live in Kuwait, I have a 2007 STi Middle East based and I just added HKS SSQV BOV, APS 65mm CAI, Megan exhaust, Headers and downpipe (ALL MEGAN). I'm having problem with my RPM, its not stable on idle. I went to an STi performance garage and he told me that he can dyno tune my car without the need of installing an engine management, and I went to another garage and he told me its a must to install an engine management to tune the car, but the first one told me that he have every thing needed to tune my car. Now I am confused and don't know what to do, do I have to buy one of the engine managements to tune my car or is it true that there is a way to tune the car without engine management (with a specialist)....??

    Regards

Seems you have searched for parts for your STi... have you not researched engine management options? You should check out Cobb AccessPort for tuning. With the AccessPort, you can use their OTS (Off The Shelf) maps, but you have to only (ONLY) have the parts listed for that map installed on your STi. Or you can get a ProTune at a dyno shop that has the ability to tune the AccessPort. Good luck and happy modding.

The first stop was talking about Opensouce, which is a tuning method that requires nothing but a $150 cable/connector and a laptop loaded with free software. It will reflash your ECU. It is considered a form of engine management even though you don't have to buy anything big to install.

The Cobb AccessPort off the shelf maps will only work on USDM cars.

fahadco80, you need to have the ECU tuned so it will run properly.
