    Greetings

Just recently, I received news that I will get an 06' STi. I have not learned yet a lot about cars in general, but I'm willing to learn. I've been reading quite a lot. My cousin is quite the car enthusiast and I asked him if I should get an exhaust first, and he said it was up to me. I've been looking around and I was wondering what do you guys think about a Cobb Turboback Exhaust, I like how it looks like a stock exhaust yet has an amazing sound.

I wouldn't buy the exhaust new - also figure in that you'll need to get some form of engine management to run it since you're removing cats (cheapest option would probably be a custom OpenECU reflash at a local shop)

Welcome to the Club & Congrats!!!

What do you mean you "received news" that you will be getting an STi?

I have the Cobb catback exhaust and an Invidia Catless Downpipe.

Definitely buy exhaust used! Just check around on here and Nasioc to see what's out there.

Make sure you DO NOT just install a Turboback Exhaust without some type of engine management!!

You can get it a lot cheaper used, and the quality doesn't go down any. The muffler can look pretty new with a little elbow grease and polish, and the exhaust pipes are under the car and aren't seen.

You can save in the $200-300 range by purchasing used, plus you help out another owner who's trying to get rid of a part sitting in their garage. Win/Win

    Welcome!

Buying used also greatly diminishes the likelihood of fitment issues, one of the caveats of an exhaust purchase.

    Okay, for future references:
If I just wanted the Cobb Turbo back exhaust for now, I just install the exhaust onto my car and then I could use something like the Cobb AP to tune it right?
    Sorry, I'm still a newbie
